Get absorbed into the original atmosphere of an old-style Bulgarian wedding. Take part in this unforgettable happening revived from Bulgarian traditions and culture. Dress up the bride, prepare her trousseau, welcome the in-laws with gaily-colored wooden vessels of heady brandy, adorn yourself with a scarlet posy, gird yourself with a gold-thread sash, pull yourself a shaggy fur cap on or embroidered folk dress – and embark on the feast!

Embroidery – the programme includes a brief history of national costumes and their embroidering. You are going to sit among a colorful working-bee of maidens, together with whom you are to work up Bulgarian embroidery, accompanied by plenty of songs and fun.

Gaiters knitting – an interesting and attractive old-fashioned art of knitting woolen socks (slippers) at four needles with many-coloured threads. Everyone can weave their imagination into the texture of the motley gaiters and be presented with a Bulgarian gift on leaving.

Wood carving – it is said about Bulgarian carvers that by chiseling the wood they put their souls in it. Perhaps that is the reason why at closer look their works of art seem to exhale purity and strength. Form all the whimsical forms with which Nature endowed the pieces of wood, you can cut your own fantasies. Try it, maybe you have some unrevealed talents to uncover in you.

Pottery–making – one of the most ancient Bulgarian handicrafts, which gives life to the clay, turning it between your hands from a small ball of potter’s clay into a beautiful ceramic bowl, an earthenware jar ( with a handle across the opening ), a salt-cellar, or……..whatever you decide to turn it into. Choose the colours and patterns and create you’re your souvenir from Bulgaria.
